Documentation
mcpspan has two parts: the dashboard, which stores calls and shows them, and an SDK in your MCP server, which measures each call and sends it there. The dashboard runs on your own machine or in mcpspan Cloud; the SDK is the same either way.
Where the dashboard runs
Self-hosting: started with Docker, then the account, ports, settings and how long data is kept, exports and OpenTelemetry, backups. Free, MIT licensed.
mcpspan Cloud: nothing to install, the SDK sends to api.mcpspan.com. Plans, limits, and what happens when a trial ends. Prices side by side with self-hosting.
Connect your MCP server
Each guide covers installing the SDK, the one line that measures every tool, measuring one tool or leaving one out, resources and prompts, versions, what is sent and what never is, and every option.
